BYEA's CONTRIBUTIONS

BYEA's CONTRIBUTIONS to meet the needs of the FILLING STATION YOUTH CENTER by...
IN-KIND DONATIONS, VOLUNTEER HOURS, STAFF TIME

We continue to do all that we do with NO PAID staff and no charge to the children or their families!

It would be extremely difficult to put a price tag on the value of time, monies, talent and love that our volunteers give daily, year after year to keep the YC going! It is priceless and far outweighs the amounts asked of individuals in momentary form for without these sacrificial volunteers and the gifts they willingly give we would not have a FILLING STATION YOUTH CENTER.

We will attempt to list some of these things that we take for granted but another organization is paying lots of monies toward:

OUR VOLUNTEERS DO ALL OF OUR:
*Lawn mowing, weed killing/weed pulling/weed eating (No lawn service is hired or paid!)
*All snow plowing/clearing of sidewalk and handicap ramps, etc., salting. (No snow removal service is hired!)
*All food purchasing, planning, meal prep and cooking and serving for thousands of meals prepared each year!
*All program planning, shopping, and prep for indoor and all outdoor programming provided.
*All building maintenance and of program games used by children for safety maintenance: rock wall, netting separator upkeep, machines, all toilet malfunctions and installs, plumbing, electrical (to a point).
*Every phone call, every mandatory meeting.
*All grant writing, bookkeeping (except for Seigel Group annual audit/review), all office work, thank you's.
*Lesson preparation for each day open by the volunteer scheduled to give lesson that day.
*Special party preparation for monthly Praise Parties, Quarterly Movie Nights (in which we are open an extra 2 hours), Luau, Western Night, Red Ribbon Celebration, Easter Celebration, Christmas Celebration, etc.
*All presentations given about the center are done on volunteer time and no one gets paid.
*Designing of T-shirts and programming updates.
*All volunteer training and preparation along with collaborating with police department training are all on VOLUNTEER TIME, evacuation plans, etc.
*We do not have paid security to protect the children like a school, etc., but every time we are open a Volunteer stands and guards the door as a barrier of protection to our precious children, placing their own life on the line!!! (Our police department has given us some security training.)

All of this is not even counting the hours of one-on-one mentoring to our precious children when our doors are open, 5 days a week. The things listed here are what go on "behind the scenes" to enable the doors to be open and such a success.
